The girls and mentors at Growing Wings support Metrocrest Social Services in Carrollton and their Sack Summer Hunger program. It's designed to help feed children who qualify for free/reduced meals during the school year by providing easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly meals and snacks for youngsters in certain areas during the summer break.

One of the young ladies from Growing Wings collected food and hygiene items for a pantry established by a crisis counselor in her school to serve students who are food insecure.

As part of our group goal, one of the Growing Wings mentors dedicates her time to helping at Equest, a local org committed to enhancing the quality of life for children and adults with diverse needs using horses to bring hope and healing through equine assisted activities and therapies.
A sense of awe, reverence, and inner peace inspired by a connection to all of creation and/or that which is greater than oneself.
Volunteering. Trying to help our community. My daughter passed away and doing this to honor her and help others. Help others with low self esteem or self worth. Signed up for LMPD CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY.

I volunteer at the American Red Cross of Southern Indiana twice a week Tuesday and Thursday 0800-1100. I have been doing this for six years, since my retirement from 29 years in the US Army. I normally act as a receptionist; but they sometimes have me folding flyers ; stuffing envelopes etc. etc. and just anything to help the fulltime workers.

I volunteer at Harvest Time at First Ebenezer Baptist Church, soup kitchen Monday; Wednesday; Friday. Serving lunch from 1200 - 1400. I have been doing this full time since my retirement (2010) from 29 years military service in the US Army.

As part of our group goal, a mentor and mentee from Growing Wings partnered up to volunteer for the Metrocrest Services holiday program, which provides families in need with the ability to "shop" for Christmas gifts and receive donated food items.
